The landscape of Monument Valley is characterized by towering red rock monoliths, flat-topped mesas, and deep sandstone canyons. The Monument Valley Tribal Park is managed by the Navajo Nation Reservation. It is a bit far from any big city, and is therefore less visited by the usual itinerant traveler. If you are around that area on a tour or just passing through, do visit the amazing Monument Valley. You will not be disappointed.
We were driving around Arizona that year in March, and Monument Valley was high in the list of places we must see. Its a few hours drive from Page, and the road was amazing in its beauty. We came into the Monument Valley from south, from the Arizona side. The weather was nice, a bit on the chilly side, but filled with blue skies and abundant sunshine.
